JASON FRAMEWORK
JASON is designed to be an overlay framework for the local church that provides additional input and output “connectors.” JASON is designed to be as lightweight as possible, keeping the weight on the local church, but providing an intricate out-facing network to increase fluidity by dropping relational friction (or, increasing permeability).
Doctrinal Statement
Core Beliefs of JASON
The following is adapted from Dallas Theological Seminary's "Essential Doctrinal Committments" published at dts.edu. These committments are required for all JASON organizations and agents.
1. God as Triune
We believe in one God who exists eternally as three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in perfect unity.
2. Jesus Christ: Fully God and Fully Man
We affirm that Jesus is both truly divine and truly human, the eternal Son who took on flesh for our salvation.
3. Humanity’s Need
We believe all people are spiritually lost apart from God and in need of redemption through Jesus Christ.
4. The Cross and Resurrection
We hold that Jesus died as a substitute for sinners and rose bodily from the dead, securing victory over sin and death.
5. Salvation by Grace Through Faith
We proclaim that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by works.
6. Christ Will Come Again
We await the visible, bodily return of Jesus to judge and to reign.
7. God’s Word is True
We affirm that the Scriptures are the inspired, trustworthy, and final authority in all matters of faith and life.
Core Strategy
JASON comes from Acts 17 — where a man named "Jason" was accused by the Jews of "welcoming" the men who "upset the world" with the gospel. This is in line with what Jesus spoke about in Matthew 10 — those who receive the messengers of the gospel receive Jesus Himself. We have discovered that all over the city, there are people and business owners who delight in the message of the gospel and in the people of God. Where it would be difficult for a business or organization to partner directly with a church, it is not difficult to partner with JASON, who is partnered with the church and a network of depth and beauty and community connections. JASON is a lightweight framework that connects groups of believers with one another, with organizations, and with small and local businesses. Our goal is to make it really easy for anyone to connect with JASON and link into its technology and theology rich infrastructure and communities. Let's go! So we function in minimalism. The designs on this page reflect our goal to keep JASON more of a framework than an organization, and thus we've dictated the bare minimums to keep everyone on mission and deeply connected.
J—Joy
A—Aristic Accuracy through listening
S–Stimulating Other Ministries
O—Only the LORD for salvation and sanctification

Basic Framework

thetable@<location>
TheTable@<location> is the most public point of JASON. It is a collaboration between JASON and a local church to host an open bible study in a local coffee shop. Table locations are published on the regional page of JASON Collaborative. Our goal is for believers to never not have a place to go on any given evening of the week to fellowship with solid believers.
the group (<groupname>)
The group is the core engine of the JASON model. Any church or freestanding small group can become a JASON group — becoming a JASON group means being connected to the other JASON groups which may be from other churches and the leader gaining access to the JASON IT infrastructure. To become a JASON group, the small group leader must have approval by their local church pastor and the area director of JASON. Each group is called by a code name — for instance dfw–bluebonnet25. While not a requirement for forming a group, groups should work toward building input from common interest activities (known as "the field" — ultimate frisbee, soccer, drones, bike riding, hiking, etc) and building ministry outputs of collaborating with other JASON groups to hold public worship/gospel revivals.

the field <fieldname>
The field is the most creative element — new people are often found out on the highways and byways. Each group can appoint a "field director" who operates in the alt cycling groups (or ahhhaa road cycling even), soccer, or ultimate frisbee, or anything that the field director likes to do. From those field activities, those identified as seekers can be invited to attend the group.
revival@<location>
Revival@<location> is the collector event and large-scale meeting point for JASON. JASON groups and tables collaborate to organize simple revival events in coffee shops, restaurants, parks, churches, and wherever a "Jason" can be found (hint: they're all over!). We call them revivals, not because they are like evangelistic meetings, but rather because we come together to revive our relationship with God and to take it deeper. Those who we meet in the course of these events can be directed to local churches, thetable@<location>, or, on an individual basis, to a JASON group.
Media/Artistic Strategy
Because we recognize the institutional pressures and standards that can exist in local churches, record labels, and other professional organizations, we desire to create a media and artistic environment where artists and organizations can make raw work without the financial and polish pressure of maintaining branding standards. The JASON label is there for the JASON groups to apply to their work. That's why we have structured JASON so that every group is under a watchful eye of a local church — this creates all the safety net we need and frees artists to create and soft publish. Our artwork is available to JASON groups behind a password wall on "BACKEND."
The "A" in JASON is artistic accuracy through listening. How to create art that resonates deeply with both the scriptures and culture? This comes best through a posture of listening. Too often believers are not "of the world" (that's good) but also not "in the world." Rather we are supposed to be not of the world but still "in" the world. Are our churches too safely behind our firewalls so that we are isolated from the world? "No one hides a lamp under a bed after lighting it..."
IT Strategy
JASON is built on Azure cloud server technology, preparing JASON to bring the highest level of IT infrastructure currently possible. JASON is then a developer rich environment where churches and organizations can build integrations to hyperconnect.
At the communications core of JASON is Discord, strategically architected to keep groups separate, but still interactive and welcoming while linking to other ministries. The multitiered approach has Discord at the core, but with a variety of tools on the top level, such as Facebook, GroupMe, Meetup, etc.
